The wait is almost over for more than 50 lakh students across Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) is expected to announce the UP Board 10th and 12th Results 2026 very soon – most likely in the last week of April 2026.

If you appeared for the High School (Class 10) or Intermediate (Class 12) exams earlier this year, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know – from checking your result on upresults.nic.in and DigiLocker to understanding your marksheet.

The board has not yet confirmed the exact date and time. But looking at previous years, results are usually declared between April 20 and April 25, mostly in the afternoon (around 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM).

How to Check UP Board Result 2026 Online

When the results are announced, you can check them through multiple methods. I recommend keeping your 10-digit Roll Number and School Code handy before you start.

Method 1: Via Official Website (upresults.nic.in)

This is the most direct method. Follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Go to the official result portal – upresults.nic.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link for:

· “U. P. Board High School (Class X) Examination – 2026 Results” (for 10th)
· “U. P. Board Intermediate (Class XII) Examination – 2026 Results” (for 12th)

Step 3: Enter your Roll Number and School Code exactly as printed on your admit card.

Step 4: Fill in the captcha code shown on the screen.

Step 5: Click on “Submit” or “View Result”.

Step 6: Your result will appear on the screen. Check all subject-wise marks carefully.

Step 7: Download the PDF and take a printout for future reference.

Pro Tip: The website may slow down or crash due to heavy traffic. If this happens, wait for 15-20 minutes and try again. Or use the alternative methods below.

Method 2: Via Alternative Official Website (upmsp.edu.in)

If the first website is slow, try this backup option:

Step 1: Visit upmsp.edu.in.

Step 2: Look for the result link on the homepage.

Step 3: Enter your roll number and school code.

Step 4: Submit and view your result.

Method 3: Via DigiLocker (Safest & Most Reliable)

DigiLocker is a government app that stores your documents digitally. This method often works even when main websites are down.

Step 1: Download the DigiLocker app from Play Store or App Store. Or visit digilocker.gov.in.

Step 2: Log in using your mobile number (linked to Aadhaar) or create an account if you don’t have one.

Step 3: Under the “Education” or “Documents” section, click on “UP State Board of High School and Intermediate Education”.

Step 4: Select:

· Class 10 Marksheet (for High School)
· Class 12 Marksheet (for Intermediate)

Step 5: Enter your Roll Number and select the year 2026.

Step 6: Your digital marksheet will appear. Download and save it.

Important: The digital marksheet from DigiLocker is legally valid just like the original printed certificate.

Method 4: Via SMS (For Students Without Internet)

If you do not have internet access, you can get your result through SMS.

For Class 10:

· Open the messaging app on your phone
· Type: UP10 (space) (your roll number)
· Example: UP10 1234567890
· Send to: 56263

For Class 12:

· Type: UP12 (space) (your roll number)
· Example: UP12 1234567890
· Send to: 56263

You will receive an SMS with your subject-wise marks shortly after.

What Your UP Board Marksheet Looks Like

Once you check your result, your marksheet will contain the following details:

  • Information Included
  • Student’s Full Name
  • Roll Number
  • Father’s & Mother’s Name
  • School Name & Code
  • Subject-wise Theory Marks
  • Subject-wise Practical Marks
  • Total Marks Obtained
  • Percentage
  • Pass/Fail Status
  • Grade/Division

Carefully verify all details. If you find any mistake (spelling error in name, wrong date of birth, etc.), contact your school immediately for correction.

Passing Criteria: How Many Marks Do You Need?

To pass the UP Board exams, you need:

Minimum 33% marks in each subject (both theory and practical combined)

This means:

· If a subject has 100 marks total, you need at least 33 marks
· You must pass in ALL subjects to clear the exam

Compartment & Improvement Exams

The UP Board gives you second chances if you need them.

Compartment Exam

If you need to reappear for subjects you could not pass, you can appear for the compartment exam.

· When: Likely in July 2026
· Result: Expected in August 2026
· Benefit: You only need to reappear for the subjects you need – not all subjects

This system has been in place since 2020 and has helped thousands of students save an academic year.

Improvement Exam (NEW for Class 12 – 2026)

Here is news for Class 12 students!

For the first time ever, the UP Board is allowing Class 12 students to take an improvement exam.

What is an improvement exam?

· If you passed but are not happy with your marks in one subject, you can reappear for ONLY that subject
· Your better score will be considered in the final marksheet

Key Details:

· Available for Class 12 students only
· You can choose any one subject out of five
· Application process will start after the main results are declared (late April/early May)
· This is DIFFERENT from the compartment exam
